ACDelco holds 40% market share
• Annual sales grew 29% in 2015
• 35 million ACDelco batteries sold through Middle East Battery Company over its history
MIDDLE EAST REGIONAL OFFICE – Global brand ACDelco has reported a 29% jump in annual Middle East sales of its maintenance-free car batteries.
The brand says its 2015 sales equate to 40% of the vehicle battery market in the region.
“Car batteries are big business in the Middle East,” says Mohammed Al Fayyad, Director of Customer Care and Aftersales for General Motors, which owns the ACDelco brand.
“We saw the battery industry grow last year and ACDelco was a powerful force behind this.”
ACDelco attributes the result to the fact that ACDelco maintenance-free batteries are specifically designed for the Middle East climate.
Al Fayyad said that the popularity of ACDelco also comes down to the fact that they create spare parts and maintenance free batteries for ‘all makes, all models’ – making it an easy choice for consumers.
“It also comes down to trust. ACDelco will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. A century is a long time to get to know your market and develop your products. Our customers trust that ACDelco is a leader in high-quality, reliable and genuine batteries, spare parts, and auto fluids.”
As for the outlook for the year ahead, Al Fayyad expects to see further growth in the industry and ACDelco’s locally made battery business, buoyed by the introduction of new technologies.
